Delivery Experience

Sani is supporting the Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project Monitoring Unit to enhance their monitoring, learning, and evaluation architecture. Using an adaptive result-based management approach, he is helping to strengthen their collection, storage, and use of meaningful data and information. He is also building the human capacity and connections necessary to generate learnings, communicate effectively, and create success.

Other Experience

Prior to joining DA, Sani founded the Bridge Connect Africa Initiative (BCAI), which provides mentoring and training support on evidence-based policy advocacy and communication, monitoring and evaluation, and multimedia communication skills to youth groups and organizations across Africa. The initiative aims to combat gender-based violence and support reproductive health, including ending child marriage and female genital mutilation and increasing access to youth reproductive health services. Sani obtained policymaker commitment for the initiative using multi-sectoral advocacy and communication approaches such as meeting with policymakers, launching digital campaigns, and hosting community engagements; these techniques reached over a million people. After the initiative began, governments in Nigeria and Kenya passed numerous policies protecting children and women’s rights and reproductive health.

As Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor, Sani oversaw the standardization of the State Primary Healthcare Board’s supply chain management, managed a team in offering data support to provide medical screenings for 7,000+ cooks for the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, supervised preliminary engagements for the “Teaching at the Right Level” project at the State Universal Basic Education Board, and coordinated activities at the Kaduna Social Investment Office for Social Protection and at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology.
