Other Experience

In his five years working with the President of Senegal’s Delivery Unit, Mayecor’s team achieved many victories, with several legislations being adopted and Senegal ranking among the top 10 reformers in the World Bank’s Doing Business annual report.

Mayecor’s proudest moment was in April 2016 when his team helped the Senegal ministry in charge of Civil Service organise the country’s first-ever forum on public administration reform. As part of the technical committee, Mayecor identified both the administrative procedures that needed to be added or improved and the legislations that needed amending. He also prepared briefings for the thematic working groups and material for the keynote presentation. The forum convened over 600 of the highest-ranking government officials, including the President, the Prime Minister and the whole of Cabinet.

The forum was instrumental in setting the agenda for broader public sector reform, defining priorities, identifying targets, planning implementation and evaluating the desired impacts on the people of Senegal.
