Lucero is currently involved in two projects with a strong emphasis on data analysis. These projects aim to measure the quality and effectiveness of charter schools and establish a common approach for measuring school quality. This work is essential in evaluating the impact of investments in charter schools and identifying where to focus efforts and resources.
Before joining DA, Lucero gained valuable experience at the Inter-American Development Bank's Office of Monitoring and Evaluation. She played a crucial role in evaluating project portfolios across various sectors in multiple Latin American countries, and contributed to assessing the development effectiveness framework of the IDB.
Lucero also served at the Ministry of Education in Mexico. As an advisor, she was instrumental in supporting the national program aimed at reducing school dropouts by providing essential strategies to principals and teachers nationwide. Additionally, she facilitated the continuation of schools in rural areas by analyzing student performance across different school modalities. She also helped implement the first metrics for measuring high school students’ socio-emotional skills.
