Laurel seeks to strengthen DA’s work in climate, sustainability, and housing—collaborating with philanthropic partners to identify and deliver on “big bets” to drive large-scale impact. She also fosters innovation and builds new partnerships across the United States as federal policy evolves, with a focus on long-term investments at the state and local levels.
Laurel served as Chief Implementation Officer for the Inflation Reduction Act at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she oversaw implementation of Treasury's IRA investments—including the administration of clean energy tax credits and the $60B investment in modernizing the Internal Revenue Service.
Previously, as Managing Director and Senior Advisor at Blue Meridian Partners, Laurel worked to improve the lives of U.S. children and families living in poverty. As President of Enterprise Community Partners, an affordable housing nonprofit, she led programs and capital investments, supported policy engagement and advocacy, and spearheaded cross-cutting initiatives in sustainability, health, and economic mobility.
Before that, Laurel was Chief of Staff to Secretary Shaun Donovan in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she directed a federal delivery unit focused on equitable long-term recovery after Superstorm Sandy. She held numerous leadership roles under New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, and has been a member of two presidential transition teams. Laurel is an active member of her community and lives with her family in Washington, DC.
